Professional Experience

Edward A. Kmett's practice focuses on patent, trademark and copyright litigation, patent prosecution, patent infringement and validity opinions, and trademark prosecution.  Some of the technologies he has worked with include computer hardware and software, Internet business methods, semiconductor fabrication processes, steel rule fabrication processes, and medical devices and their methods of use, genotype analysis software, and aircraft flight control systems.


Mr. Kmett gained practical engineering experience during his several years in both the military and private industry in aircraft and spacecraft mechanical systems design including employment with a variety of defense contractors such as Northrop-Grumman, Electronic Data Systems, Hughes Space and Communications and McDonnell-Douglas.

Mr. Kmett received an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering and published a thesis entitled "A Stability And Control Comparison Between A Single Fuselage Aircraft And A Twin Fuselage Aircraft". While in law school, Mr. Kmett served as a member of the Southwestern University Moot Court program as a writer.
